IN HONOR AND REMEMBRANCE... IN WAR AND IN PEACE

Many of my dad's classmates were shipped off to war within the next few years following their high school graduation - as the US entered the Korean War.  Some never to return alive - others returning wounded and maimed.

For my dad, the call came in 1953, when, in early summer, he was shipped off to boot camp. By July,  he was on his way to  Korea.

Be The Bow

Mothering is hard, good work. We know this and mostly, we embrace this. But, what do we do when we have done everything possible to guide our children, and instead of the path we believe is right for them, they choose another. What about the other times when we try to keep them safe and sheltered from harm, and still, harm comes.
